Enable Modern Authentication in Skype for Business
Modern Authentication for Skype for Business Online has come out of preview but how do you turn it on. The instruction will help you enable it for your tenant and also client.
Connect PowerShell to Skype for Business online in your Office 365 tenant. If you are not sure how to connect, go to this Microsoft site that will explain how
Run this command that switches on Modern Authentication:
Set-CsOAuthConfiguration -ClientAdalAuthOverride Allowed
Now run Get-CsOAuthConfiguration to confirm that Modern Authentication has actually switched on. You should see the following information:
Another thing to bear in mind is if it doesn't work because Modern Authentication is not enabled locally. Look for the following registry keys.
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Office\16.0\Lync\<username>
DWord: AuthenticationProtocol
Value: ADAL
DWord: OAuthUsed
Value: 1
